IIPM Scam since 2015 by Arindham Chaudhuri - India
IIPM stands for Indian
Institute of Planning and Management. In 2015, there was a case filed against
the founder of Indian Institute of Planning and Management, Arindam Chaudhuri.
This step was taken by UGC. UGC stands for University Grants Commission. A FIR
was registered with the Delhi Police with the allegation that Arindam Chaudhuri
was actually fooling students. It was reported that apparently Indian Institute
of Planning and Management was not registered under any recognized authority.
This why their courses could not be termed as ‘recognized’ courses and that
actually when the students would have completed their degree from this
institute, they would have no substantial value in the world outside.
When the Joint CP
(crime) Ravindra Yadav was contacted for his comments on the matter and
valuable details that the public must know related to such a scam because
obviously the lives, careers and money of a number of applicants was involved,
he was quite open. He said that they had registered a FIR under the Indian
Penal Code’s section 420. The complaints against the dean of IIPM Arindam
Chaudhuri. Other people involved were his father Malayendra Kisor Chaudhuri. He
is a director of the IIPM. Further, h said that investigation would go on and
only then conclusions can be reached and made public.
When the matter was
taken up with Arindam Chaudhuri, he had a totally different story to tell. He
was of the opinion that he and his family as well as his institute were being
targeted. When he was asked why a big name like UGC would get involved without
any reason, he was quick to say that UGC only wanted to remain in the news by
putting baseless allegations on IIPM and Arindam Chaudhuri.
In fact, he even
went on to specify on record that UGC was only doing this because they were not
under UGC and that they had earlier pointed out how corrupt UGC was as a
collective body.
In fact, he clarified his case further and it was indeed true
what he was saying. He said that they anyway never claimed to be associated
with any statutory body. Neither do they give away degrees. Their website and
prospectus has been very point blank everywhere that they provide only
certificates and no degrees whatsoever.
About University Grants Commission on Indian Institute of Planning and Management Scam
He then feels that there
is no point of such a massive and large scale fuss by the UGC or the media
because it is actually very direct and out in the open that they are not at fault
anywhere.
Last but not the least,
it must also be noted that Arindam Chaudhuri and his family have been
cooperating well with the police since they received a notice and investigation
started off.
India is a country which has one of the leading populations in the
world.
With such a large fleet of young and active minds, we can easily be a
superpower in the world. But, such scams and games with the future of students
is not acceptable under any cost.
In fact, education has now become a big business.
